We were lucky enough to join Hawaii Forest and Trails tours on Xmas eve. Our family group were recommended it by the concierge at our hotel and we feel we really lucked out on this one. Rob our guide (and the big Kahuna of HF&T) turned up on time and was quick to introduce himself and make everyone at ease including the young kids we had. The vehicle HF&T use are top quality Sprinter vans not the cramped clunky old F350's and the like that all the other companies we saw were using. This...

I wanted to let you know how impressed my wife and I were with our guide Derek. He took us on a Kilauea tour and was great. His level of knowledge was awesosme. I have never learned more about the flora, fauna and geology on any other tour I have taken. He had nothing but the enjoyment of his patrons in mind. Derek also connected with us on a personal level by trying to get to know us and our background. I would recommend and personally request Derek should the opportunity arise in the future. ...

Adventure: Mauna Kea Summit & Stars

This Thanksgiving was the second time we have done this excursion with Hawaii Forest and Trail. Once again it proved to be an excellent experience. Our guide was knowledgeable, the dinner was wholesome, the sunset picturesque, then to top it off an hour of star gazing punctuated with hot chocolate and cookies. While it might seem quite expensive remember it's a seven to eight hour adventure.
