See it on Tours:
Story tells of a young boy named Kawelo, who’s grandparents took a liking to him and believed he would become a strong man. As a child, Kawelo one day saw one of his peers, Kauahoa, flying a kite and wanted one of his own. His grandparents granted this to him, and he then spent days flying his kite with Kauahoa. One day Kawelo was taunting Kauahoa by flying his kite back and forth and eventually entangled it with Kauahoa’s. Kauahoa’s kite strings snapped and his kite was lost. Although Kauahoa could have punished Kawelo, he instead blamed it on the wind, to keep the peace. However, the fact that Kawelo’s kite stayed in the air was taken as a sign that his mana, or spiritual energy, was greater than Kauahoa’s. To this day Kawelo’s kite can still be seen flying high in the night sky, correlating to the four stars of the great square of Pegasus.
