Interpretive Guide
Matt was imported to the Big Island from Manchester By-the Sea, Massachusetts. He first fell in love with the Big Island in 2002 when he arrived to work on organic farms. Those experiences lead him to pursue a degree in Plant and Soil Science from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. He is a certified soil scientist and has managed farms in Massachusetts, Oregon, and Italy. In 2009, Matt returned to the most beautiful place he has ever seen and he is happy he did! He feels blessed to have the opportunity to live and work on the Big Island once again. He is passionate about providing a true learning experience and a fun, safe, and entertaining adventure.

Hello, Matt! Just wanted to let you know that how much we appreciated all the hard work you did in showing us Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. We did not expect to have a certified scientist as our tour guide. Your passion for nature made our tour so much more interesting and gave us an unforgettable experience on the Big Island.
