Ethan Tweedie

Interpretive Guide
Ethan grew up in the small town of Waimea on the Big Island where he graduated from the Parker School. Upon graduation he attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa and received his BA in Geography. While attending UH Ethan also taught Geology. After graduation, Ethan held several different careers. One of his first experiences was working as an aide to a Big Island representative at the Hawaii State Legislature. Ethan was then hired at Morgan Stanley in Honolulu as a Financial Advisor. After 5 years with Morgan Stanley Ethan was offered a position with Pfizer Pharmaceuticals where he sold heart medicine to cardiologists. After 17 years in the corporate world Ethan decided to move back to the Big Island to pursue a simpler life in the great outdoors and live his passion for Hawaii. Ethan is a “natural” at guiding as he has always loved showing off this magical place we call Hawaii. Some of Ethan’s passions include surfing, camping, hiking, history of Hawaii and skiing on Mauna Kea. Ethan is also a professional photographer and you will see his photographs on Hawaii Forest and Trail’s website and Facebook site from time to time. He is always willing to help his guests get great photographs on his tours.

Tuesday, March 8th we went on the Twilight Volcano Adventure, and much to our pleasure Ethan was our guide. We had a marvelous time, he was sooo informative and knowledgeable, plus he had a great since of humor. Thanks to Ethan’s outstanding leadership he had our group at ease and having fun from the get go. After dark we got to see the glow from the new rift, the incredible stars and got some great pictures thanks once again to Ethan. When we make a return trip, Hawaii Forest Trail will be our first contact for another adventure. And yes, my family and are now Ethanites !!!!
